False Quintet
Wizards of flavor, magicians of beverage, warriors of radness – whatever you want to call the crew at Modern Times, there is no shortage of awesomeness and amazing beer coming from these guys. And when they say yes to a collab beer, you get excited.
Last month we took the pilgrimage to Downtown LA (with traffic and all) to hang with our homies at the Modern Times Dankness Dojo. We shared stories of our prized Star Wars collections, broke a pretty sweat hand stirring the mash, ate one of the best vegan pizzas known to man, drank plenty of beer and commandeered the instruments from a Modern Times band practice (don't be fooled by the band photo, not one of us could actually play the instrument).
What emerged from this amazing day of friendship was an insanely delicious hazy DIPA, named, False Quintet. Fermented with a Kviek Yeast and loaded with Nelson, Mosaic and Amarillo hops; it's an enchanting symphony of stone fruit, kiwi, papaya, and white grape with just enough resinous pine character to tie the whole thing together. It's both complex and ridiculously quenching and we're pretty excited about it.
Check out the magical photos below and take a trip through what was our pilgrimage to the Modern Times Dankness Dojo in Los Angeles. And If you see this one out in the wild on draft, don't hesitate, it's worth every last drop.
Hey Marshall and Casey,
Unfortunately this beer will be available at Modern Times locations only. The closest location that currently has it on tap is the Santa Barbara location.
Thanks!
Are we gonna see some of this beer in Ventura? Always love to see great brew miesters collab on making some new beers to try. Modern Times was a good one to get together with. Hope to see this beer around.
Will you guys be having any of the Made West/ Modern Times collaboration cans available at your Made West brewery locations?
